About the Writer/Director

DiShan Patrice

DiShan Patrice is a national bestselling author, award winning playwright, director, producer, and creative visionary whose work has long centered the voices, experiences, faith, humor, and emotional lives of women.

She is the author of several books including, Diary of a Mad First Lady and The Preacher's Wifey, two beloved novels that established her as a compelling storyteller with a gift for writing characters who feel honest, familiar, and unforgettable. Her stories have also found life beyond the page through stage productions and films. She has written, directed, and produced several theatrical productions have toured the country impacting lives through her pen.

As the writer, director, and producer of Just Love Me Right, DiShan brings audiences an elevated theatrical experience about friendship, love, self-abandonment, healing, and what happens when women finally stop accepting less than they deserve. Set inside Aunt Toopies upscale sould food restaurant, the production blends heartfelt storytelling, sharp humor, live music, old school church, and the kinds of comversations that leave you exposed.

A licensed and ordained Pastor affectionately known as a "church girl rogue," DiShan has spent decades creating spaces where women can laugh, tell the truth, rediscover themselves, and leave changed.
